The evil eye is real and dangerous

The evil eye is real and extremely dangerous. The Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) wanted to emphasise how serious it is which is indicated in the below hadiths.

Ibn ‘Abbas reported Allah’s Messenger as saying: “The influence of ‘ayn is a fact; if anything would precede the destiny it would be the influence of the eye (Sahih Muslim)

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amir bin Rabi’ah, from his father, that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “The evil eye is real.” (ibn Majah)

Some situations when you can get ‘Ayn

* Expressing amazement at something without asking Allah to bless it. For example you see a nice car and you say “WOW” and you don’t invoke the blessings of Allah nor mention Him – you can easily give the evil eye to that person or put it on that thing – so it will have an accident or always be unreliable

* When you see something that is really pleasing or cute - for example children easily get the ‘ayn because they are often praised for their cuteness and their actions.

* Due to jealousy/envy – so someone who has a diseased heart sees something that you have or a quality you possess and he is envious of you.  This festers in his heart and can cause major problems for you

* When you look at yourself and become impressed at your beauty etc. You don’t thank Allah and you can give yourself the eye

How to protect from the ‘Ayn

* If you see something that you like, or that is cute, or that you appreciate; invoke the blessings of Allah for that thing. Say something like Allahumma baarik, BarakAllahu feek.

“This is the safest method (i.e. to say Allahumma baarik etc), and the method which is most apparent from the wording of the hadith.

* Seek refuge with Allah from the evil eye for yourselves and your children.

* Do not openly flaunt your blessings – ESPECIALLY NOT ONLINE!

* Surround yourself with the shield of adhkaar morning and evening – see the book “The Fortress Of The Muslim”

➔ Should you fear the evil eye?

Take your precautions, place your trust in Allah and live life! Do not live in constant fear of Ayn! But at the same time do not become negligent of it and use what is mentioned from the Quran and Sunnah as a barrier against it.

Indeed the whispering of the Shaytaan deceived them and made them disobey Allah through tasting the fruits of the forbidden tree.  Waswas comes in different degrees , in terms of the type of waswas and how it effects people differen

Destroying taweez (amulets)

When it comes to destroying taweez, there are a number of things to bear in mind.  EQUIPMENT  You will need the following equipment: 1.  A tray - This will ensure that everything stays together and nothing falls on the floor. 2.  A long neck gas lighter – the kind often used for lighting barbecues. 3. A suitable container for burning the ta’weez in. I personally use a stainless steel metal cylinder, but you can use an old pan, or anything that can take the heat. 4. Gloves If the taweez is encased in a container, you will also need: 1.  A pair of pliers and scissors, and possibly other tools to open the case. 2.  Eye protection is recommended. PLEASE NOTE : If the taweez contains knots, you will also need a loose razor blade. If the method calls for ruqyah water, you will also need a bowl of tap water. *Before beginning , we recommend that during the whole process, from beginning to end, the person continually recites al-Falaq and an-Naas.* How to open the taweez: 1.  Open the taweez c

1. He asks patient’s his Mother’s name. 2. He takes a sweaty garment from the patient (a piece of cloth, hat, etc) 3.
